How many pictures will we receive?
I do not limit the number of digitals you receive. Most of my galleries, other than weddings, will receive at a minimum 50+ fully edited images.
If booking a mini session, 15 minutes, you will receive at a minimum 10 fully edited images.
I do offer professional print products, but you are not obligated to purchase them when booking sessions with me.
Where will we take our pictures?
I love taking maternity pictures outside especially if you have other children in the pictures because I like it when the kids have room to play, run, and be themselves.
If you are wanting more of studio setting, let me know and I can accommodate that as well. If you do not have a pre-selected location for your session, I will offer a list of my favorite places to photograph in and around Hampton Roads, VA & The Outer Banks of NC. Each location has pros and cons and each has a different look and feel. During your pre-portrait consultation, I’ll help you decide which is the best location to tell your story.
What if it rains?
Photo sessions happen rain or shine! It might be very hot, very cold, very windy, a little rainy, or a little snowy and still the photo session will go on! The weather in Hampton Roads, VA and Outer Banks, NC is unpredictable and I can not guarantee your session will happen on a perfect, sunny day. What I can guarantee is that we will make memorable and beautiful photos of your family. Sessions are meant to document your life, even on rainy days, so bring an umbrella!
(Note that we will reschedule if the weather conditions make it too dangerous to be outside, lightning on the beach, hurricane, tornado, etc.)
Are Family Pets allowed?
Sure! Pets are totally family members! Let’s just make sure they’re groomed, well behaved, and on a leash. Bring plenty of treats and a few chew toys, to be safe.
When should we book our newborn session?
The general rule of thumb for the “best” time to schedule a posed newborn session is around 7-14 days old.
If you are wanting more lifestyles, natural, non-posed, there really is no timeline. Just keep in mind, you are wanting to document the memories of your new bundle of joy.
How should I dress for my maternity session?
There are lots of options for what to wear for your maternity photos, but what I want is for you to look amazing. What you would wear in normal day-to-day life may not necessarily be the look you are going for at your session.
You want to wear a dress that will give you the most flattering silhouette for your maternity photos, after all you are booking a maternity session to document the bump. So here is what to look for:
* A dress/top that is tight up top, meaning that it is tight to just above the belly.
* A dress or skirt that flares out starting just above the belly. You don't want it to be tight underneath the belly. I know there are a lot of dresses like that, and maybe this is a personal preference, but I love a flowy skirt that allows lots of movement. I think it looks more flattering and it also gives you something to play with/swish around.
* Length should be to the floor. Not too much longer than that because you don't want to trip on it (unless you plan an epic, long dress for just a small portion of the session). And it's okay if it's midi-length if you want to show off your shoes. But typically a floor length dress looks more romantic and flowy.

When will my gallery be available for viewing?
Summer months, May - September, are my busiest months. I do try to have your gallery available to you within 1 - 2 weeks, but I do send out a couple sneak peeks within 24 hours of the session.
When should I book my maternity session?
You'll find that every photographer has their own preference about when they take maternity photographs during your pregnancy. However, I personally prefer to do maternity photographs between 28 – 36 weeks. This window falls between months 7 and 8 of pregnancy.

Go to the "CONTACT" tab to get in touch with me. Once we have everything finalized, date, location, time, an invoice will be sent. Your session is not confirmed until your 25% deposit has been paid.
