FAQ
How many pictures will we receive?
Engagements, I do not limit the number of digitals you receive. Most of my galleries, other than weddings, will receive at a minimum 50+ fully edited images.
If booking a mini session, 15 minutes, you will receive at a minimum 10 fully edited images.
Weddings, depending on the length of wedding coverage you can end up with anywhere from 50+ pictures for a vow renewal to 1500 pictures for 10hr wedding day coverage.
I do offer professional prints products, but you are not obligated to purchase them when booking sessions with me.
Where will we take our pictures?
Engagement Sessions are always done outside. If you do not have a pre-selected location for your session, I will offer a list of my favorite places to photograph in and around Hampton Roads, VA & The Outer Banks of NC. Each location has pros and cons and each has a different look and feel. During your pre-portrait consultation, I’ll help you decide which is the best location to tell your story.
Can you do a mixture of posed and candid pictures?
Always. My visual storytelling style leans toward a candid, documentary approach (the spontaneous moments and memories of the day), but formal family photographs are an important aspect of every wedding. I get it all!
Are Family Pets allowed?
Sure! Pets are totally family members! Let’s just make sure they’re groomed, well behaved, and on a leash. Bring plenty of treats and a few chew toys, to be safe.
How should we dress for our engagement session?
It should be a fun, less formal precursor to your wedding day photos—and, as with most prewedding events—picking an outfit is an important component. Since you'll likely use these photos for save-the-dates, wedding websites or even on your wedding program, you'll want to look and feel your best. Any important photo op comes with a lot of pressure, so choosing what to wear for your engagement photos shouldn't be one of them.
Choose outfits you’re comfortable in. Make sure everyone’s clothes fit properly and are not requiring constant adjustment. Don’t wear clothing that wrinkles easily, unless you’re okay with the wrinkles in the photos or want to pay extra to have them digitally lessened/removed. Make sure your bra strap doesn’t keep slipping out and shirts don’t gape open at the buttons when seated.
Don’t forget the shoes and accessories!
What if it rains?
My sessions happen rain or shine, hot or cold! It might be very hot, very cold, very windy, a little rainy, or a little snowy and still the photo session will go on! The weather in Hampton Roads, VA and Outer Banks, NC is unpredictable and I can not guarantee your session will happen on a perfect, sunny day. What I can guarantee is that we will make memorable and beautiful photos of you and your loved one, even if we are splashing around in puddles. Sessions are meant to document your life, even on rainy days, so bring an umbrella!
(Note that we will reschedule if the weather conditions make it too dangerous to be outside, lightning on the beach, hurricane, tornado, etc.)
When will my gallery be available for viewing?
Summer months, May - September, are my busiest months. I do try to have your gallery available to you within 1 - 2 weeks for engagement session, but weddings do take a bit longer. My timeline to deliver wedding photos is 4 weeks, but I do send out a couple sneak peeks within 24 hours of the session ending.

Go to the "CONTACT" tab to get in touch with me. Once we have everything finalized, date, location, time, an invoice will be sent. Your session is not confirmed until your 25% deposit has been paid.
